Inspiring and thought provoking.. I can see the brilliance in someone who looks at problems like this. It is unconventional wisdom like this that keep expanding our field.

S&S is still a good agency, everywhere.

I think they could’ve done more with the idea of the world looking different, but the fact that the man is at the top implies success or this perceived rocky incline, which is nice.

The seamless advertising on staircases is a patented method by german company Shapeshifter Media -> http://www.shapeshiftermedia.com. Their stairgraphics have been around for a while now. Just a great advertising idea.

I’d like to believe that the student didn’t copy Satchi and Satchi. But if you submit something like this to Clio, and theirs work like this out there thats the same.. Thats awful obviously one copied the other.. And frankly I am sick of this kinda stuff happening I wish we knew who did what first.

Pretty obvious – the patent for this technique has been granted to the German company (www.shapeshiftermedia.com) in 2001. So there´s no doubt about any priorities ;)

My name is jeseok Yi

I’m a student who came up similar idea 2006

, I finished up in January 2007

and I entered it in March 2007 Clio student competition.

I’m living in New York

I coudn’t even see this ad since it even appeared long time after

I got Bronze from Clio

Is there any body seen this Parkins ad before Feb 2007 ?

Lay out and concept are exactly same.

If some one copied mine, I’m happy because the best compliment is ‘ I want to steal that idea!’

but at the same time someone has to be shame about that!

Well Jeseosk,

looks like youre a bit late. That german company has in fact patented this kind of advertising on staircases in 2001 (in the US, too).

Looks like your oh so brave submission to the Clio awards in 2007 is nothing but a violation of their intellectual property ;)

Take a look here :

Fred,

It might be a violation of the german company’s intellectual rights to use that medium. However, the idea itself is something different. In this case the idea is clearly Jeseosk.

You can patent the use of stairs as advertising space; but not the use of the line “The world looks different when you have Parkinson’s” and then put it in the stairs.
