I’ve been snowboarding for ages now and I had no idea that this was THE car for snowboarders. Is Italy different from the rest of the world maybe? :o

[...] two executions today that sparked my interest, some very strange looking Audi TT posters on “I Believe in Advertising“. Here’s just one of the two ads coming from Italy (DDB), image from the blog linked [...]

I like the add from an artist point of view, but I have yet to see a snowboarder in a Audi. As Adrea said maybe Italy is different, but I think they are missing their target by running this add.

Actually, Audi and Subaru are all over the mountains of Washington State. I am a avid snowboarder and own a A4 Avant which brings me to my next comment. This ad has the wrong car. They should have an Avant, (wagon) every shredder wants one. Can you imagine stuffing all your gear in the back of a TT? With much respect to DDB, this ad is stupid. I be they opened up a copy of Transworld and notice this style used in all 180 full page ads in the mag and decide that is the look for their campaign. Unimaginative, boaring, and insulting to both the snowboard community and the Audi enthusiasts out there. (which I can speak for both) This also is a shock to be approved by Audi considering their history of innovative advertising and branding.

Dear Ewytt, thank you for your lesson. Even if as usual the teacher’s point of view is a bit boring and conservative. In this ad I find an amazing design work and the audi TT is very famous for the expressive power of its design. If I think at the shape of a snowboard and of this car I find many points of contact, maybe is not from a rational point of view (few space inside) the perfect car for a snowboarder but for sure it express the same attitudes for fun, dinamism, enjoyment, design, modernity.
At this point, only one question in my opinion has no answer: Ewytt are you an account?

Penso che il problema sia a livello di planning. Audi auto degli snowboarder sembra una barzelletta.

Bella l’illustrazione. Concetto come detto inesistente.

Feels overdone the style.. and forced without much concept but its a nice illustration overall especially the hidden images.

This is pretty unimaginative in my opinion. A few years ago when this style of art was hip and new, this ad might have been effective at targeting a younger audience for the car (most TT owners i know are old men, the car is NOT very fast and its expense/performance ratio is very high).
If Audi is trying to market this vehicle to snowboarders, a photograph of the car driving in the mountains with snowboards attached to the top would have been more effective. Put some slogan at the bottom like:

“wherever the ride takes you”

or something. That would be much better and more effective at getting the point across.

Agree to blhack’s idea.

I don’t understand your “account”question Scintilla. I don’t have an account to this site if that is what you are asking.
