Wanna see those creators meeting face to face with leaders they make fun of.
None of the leaders can be called coward, so i think the idea to put them in this way is disgrace for the agency got payed for this.

jochen said,

May 20, 2009 @ 17:25

@gillios: are you working for any of these guys? XD
how would you know if they are cowars or not.

besides… thats not the point. the idea simply illustrates that they should be afraid of the power of the people.

good work guys.

Good idea. A little bit exaggerated. One point, the european fellas still see Latinamerican like a jail. Don´t work the insight very good. Chavez and Castro, Raúl now, don´t work here cause they aren´t the comuniste beasts that you think.

O sea, esos personajes latinoamericanos no son percibidos como los ven los alemanes.

Saludos, desde México

Gilios said,

May 20, 2009 @ 20:52

@jochen
no i am not))
What i said is just imho
Thay can afford themselves to say things about US and human rights the way they really think what none of european leders can)) And because of that i can see these pictures. And that is fun. Dont even think that i was trying to protect them.

Leaders of certain countries are afraid of a computer mouse.

The only words on the page are part of the logo. And the call to action is a url.

I suppose this ad is trying to get me click to a website. I’m only guessing. It’s certainly not very clear. And it’s not clear what will happen next.

And then I’m not sure that I believe that these guys would be afraid. Of anything.

It’s all very vague.

Which is to say, the execution is really built around a convenient visual pun rather than an attempt to communicate clearly.

Is that really helpful to the advertiser?

Well… I think its perfect… Being part of the UN-happy part of Venezuela (Big one I asure you), the one that gets violated from its human rights from time to time because our not-so-great leader just feels like doing it, shutting down a tv chain because “it doesnt go with our new-and-improved goverment system”, the so called “XXI Century Socialism”… Sorry if I got all emotional, but its great to see that everyday people notice beyond the talks of one man, starts looking at the reality, and tryies to do something about it…

Take care, everyone!

I appreciate the fact that there’s very little type on the ads. Someone mentioned that they felt as though the images weren’t provocative enough to lure them into checking the URL. I personally think the fact that the images make me want to spend a little time figuring out the scenario draws a sucessful amount of attention to the ad. Great work.

Berlusconi and his government are making law against internet freedom and speach freedom.
The Carlucci’s law and the “decreto pacchetto sicurezza” ( a “decreto” is a law that governament ask to approve quickly, normally nobody in the parlamient read it, and there a re a lot of little laws they dont wanna be too much divulgate) wanna equipare blog to paper legally, it means that if i say something against a power man (berlusconi, for exemple) he can (whit all his money and power) accuse me.
but not only, if there is the suspect of crime the site will be closed before and during the process.

why?
couse i can say the truth or anyway make thinking people trough internet, and this is the reason of power against it.

and is not only a small site problem (but if u are here i think u will interested to small site problem too)
but youtube and facebook will be overcontrolled.
here in italy facebook yet is. group and link against power are deleted constantly.
youtube is still free, maybe ‘couse less cotrollable.

Dear Andrea,
I’m againt the provision of the “paccetto sicurezza” that blog will be similar to newspaper.
However, this will not change the freedom of speech: today and tomorrow newspapers and blogs can be prosecuted only if they write offensive and false information on individuals.
Today and tomorrow blogs and newspapers can write truth against a man of power without the risk of payng fees or damages.
In Italy there’s complete freedom of speech and write.

Perhaps another more considered Campaign from Ogilvy Mathers should follow – perhaps one depicting the ’scapegoat’. A scene showing the Jewish Day of Atonement; a goat (shown as the 3 leaders above) on which the high priest symbolically loads all the sins of the community before sending the animal out into the wilderness!

More surprised at the bad photoshop skills, even for Ogilvy!

I think these ads are great and intelligent. I didn´t understand some comments contesting the image of those governors afraid of a single mouse computer… Of course some “leaders” uses the power in a wrong way and if they had to face the consequences, they would be afraid of (like Saddam Hussein did). Some didn´t understand why is Hugo Chavez there…Why not? He is transforming Venezuela in a new Cuba, as it was said, “shutting down a tv chain because “it doesnt go with our new-and-improved goverment system”. The ads are very good!
