I love it. Really makes you focus on the clothes and not the rest.

I had no idea at first until my eye finally met with the logo “Dreft” that this was an advertising campaign for laundry detergent. The strategic idea to have the photographs be comparison from past to present was extremely effective. Every time I get dressed and am leaving the house my mom always says “I think I wore that EXACT same outfit when I was your age.” Harem pants, high wasted pants, puffed out shoulder blouses, skinny jeans and bell bottoms are all trends that have reappeared throughout my generation. Fashion truly always does return no matter the trend. Considering my mom was somewhat of a fashionista in her day and happened to be my same size at age 20, I wear her clothes from the 70′s and 80′s all the time! My favorite garment is her old high wasted levi cut off jean shorts.

It is true that without a strong laundry detergent that those jean shorts may have not made it to my waist! That is why I feel this advertisement campaign is so effective because EVERYONE can relate. The positioning of the models and their specific clothing that was used is really intriguing. Overall, this campaign really caught my attention and made me think about how I want my clothes to last for my children in future generations because we all know that 2010′s fashion will return 20 years from now!
