With the relevance of eco-friendly initiatives increasing every day, Lee wanted an innovative solution that would display their affiliation towards the same and also spread the message amongst their customers. To drive the message home in a fun and effective way, we went for something a bit more inventive than just a bag made of recycled paper. The ‘Never Wasted’ shopping bag that can be reused in one way or another. Some for fun, some for function, but nothing ever goes into the trash. Not only did this make the idea long-lasting and interactive but also conveyed the message in a fascinating manner. A surge in interest from patrons forced us to produce 100 times more bags than the initial production of 3,000 bags.

Task at hand was to come up with an in-store promotion idea to run along the ‘Sex sells Unfortunately we sell jeans’ campaign to help increase sales. So we created the Knee.J, a spoof sex toy of sorts to be given away to all customers that ran a bill above $ 150. One day from running posters and e-mailers, the stores saw an instant increase in walk-ins. Customers were all eager to get their hands on the Knee.J. What was meant to be a one-store activity got enough publicity to manufacture more pieces and take them across all stores. The sales picked up by 40% and customers were spotted kneeling for more.

Inspired from the dubious factoid that India has the largest number of Diesel fakes in the world, Diesel’s launch party in India was called the ‘Fake Party’. To invite the celebrities to this party we sent them ‘Tears of Joy’ — 100% Natural Crocodile Tears that was actually a bottle of glycerine. This unpretentious dig on the ever-socialising celebrity lifestyle established an instant connection with the celebrities. Some of them blogged about it, few asked for an extra piece to play a prank on their friends, and almost all of them turned out at the party to revel in its mad fun — this time, for real.

Jung von Matt is looking for Art Directors. To find them we used Trojan horses: 15 well-known photographers. They show their work regularly to the best creative agencies. So we integrated small job ads in their portfolios. For example as an inscription on a bus, a graffiti on a wall or a stitchery on a pullover. In this way the photographers carried our massage precisely to our target group.
