McDonald’s: Russian Dolls

During the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, the Russia House was located right across the street from a flagship McDonald’s location. These Big Mac boxes based on matyroshka, a set of traditional Russian dolls that decrease in size and fit one inside the other, were sent over to welcome them. Inside the final and smallest Big Mac box was a coupon for free food written in Cyrillic. 100s of sets of boxes were then placed in McDonald’s take-out bags and dropped off at the Russia House for members of the Russian delegation.

CoverGirl LashBlast Length: Entry gate

To showcase the category’s largest brush, a new media space was created – the subway exit turnstiles themselves. Dramatizing the benefit of LashBlast Length, the exit turnstiles were wrapped in yellow to look like an extremely long brush, and the crossbars were wrapped in black to demonstrate the extremely long lashes you get as a result of using the mascara.

“Extremely long brush. extremely long lashes. LashBlast Length mascara.”

Miele Washing Machine: Caring

“The more you care for your clothes, the more you need a Miele. Miele Active Care. 14 unique special programs that take care of your favourite clothes.”

Challenge: Today, all washing machines make your laundry clean, but not all make it look good and last longer. Miele treat every kind of textile according to it’s unique properties – which results in clothing care instead of a simple wash. Our task was to rise awareness of Miele’s exclusive special washing programs, while at the same time confirming Miele’s position as a premium brand for washing and drying machines.

Solution: Ads that interact with the editorial material in fashion magazines – thereby taking ownership of “caring” for the latest fashion. Our ads were placed in the middle of fashion reports. Than ks to a hole in the ads you could se parts of the clothes in surrounding fashion pictures, looking like they were placed in one of Miele’s washing machines.

Indonesian Railways: Giant Cleaver

Many accidents happened on train crossing gate in Indonesia. Cars, motorcycles, even people often cross the railways when the alarm is on and the gate is moving down. It is very dangerous! Instead of putting unusual notice board poster (that people never notice), they installed a giant cleaver shaped poster on the gate to remind people about the dangerous. The copy says, “Don’t be reckless, Stay safe.” People clearly receive a relevant message in an unexpected way and it grabs many attentions. The giant cleaver made drivers stop when the alarm is on as the gate moving down. It has been a breakthrough that Indonesian Railways ever did.

“Don’t be reckless. Stay Safe.”

Rav-Bariach: Your door is your face

Israels leading door manufacturer Rav-Bariach came out with a campaign to launch their new line of designers doors. By identifying the front door of a house as the very face of the home, the aim was to create a status symbol out of the common front door. The medium selected for this campaign was the front door, the very place where the consumer comes into contact with the product on a daily basis. In the late hours of the night, tens of thousands of hangers were distributed and hung on the doors of households across Israel. Through the use of humour and a targeted touch point, they managed to reach their consumer at the very place where there message really hit home. The campaign transformed the new line of designer doors into an overnight success. Awareness and fondness of the product, as well as the number of calls and orders via the call centre, all rose significantly.
